My 27 years in banking have been primarily in Government
Guaranteed Lending (SBA and USDA). I began my career as a Business Development Officer, and I also have experience in Secondary Market lending. For the past eight years I have led SBA Sales Teams for national lenders 5/3 Bank and First Horizon.

Banking Experience

I started my career as a loan processor for a CDFI in Raleigh called the Carolina Small Business Development Fund. The Carolina Small Business Development Fund is a CDFI that specialized in SBA lending. I later was promoted to a Credit Analyst and then to an Underwriter. I spent 5 years at the Carolina Small Business Development Fund and then moved on to work at Wells Fargo as a Mortgage Underwriter Level 3. At Wells Fargo, I was able to get a better understanding of the mortgage lending industry. I was then able to get an opportunity to work with a national SBA lender specializing in owner-occupied commercial Real-Estate. I have worked in the banking industry for 7 years, I have gotten a chance to work in multiple departments within the lending arena which has prepared me to best serve my clients.

Banking Experience 

I began my banking career as a teller in 2018 and quickly worked my way up to the Sales and Finance department. From there, I was recognized for my skills and communication abilities and was promoted Branch Manager in 2020. My latest accomplishment at Community First Bank was to move into a lending role, specializing in SBA — small business lending.

I am currently working on a Bachelor’s degree in Business Finance at Western Governors University.

I have a passion for not only helping individuals achieve their financing needs but also helping to increase financial awareness and education throughout the community. By helping people under the
concepts of interest rates, equity, and other financial terms we can organically grow local businesses for local people. Reinvesting in the community I serve is important to me. In my first year of management, I helped customers with approximately $1 million in new consumer loans. In the future, I hope to hold seminars to help educate the community on their financial options.

Personal Interests and Community Involvement

I am a member of the Anderson Chamber of Commerce, BNI Strategic Alliance (a business networking group in Anderson), as well as a member and trustee at Evergreen Baptist Church in Anderson, SC.

In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my wife and son, watching Clemson football, playing basketball, and working in my yard at home. In the future, I hope to start investing in real estate, working towards his family becoming debt-free.
